After weeks of sleepless nights, diaper disasters, and the kind of exhaustion that made both parents forget what day it was, the house finally had a moment of peace.
Mommy sat on the couch, hair in a messy bun that had seen better days, gently bouncing the baby on her knee. Daddy sat beside her, halfway through a yawn and a cold cup of coffee.
And than all of a sudden, it happened! A tiny sound that made them both freeze.
It wasn’t a cry. It wasn’t a hiccup. It was a giggle. A real, unmistakable baby giggle.
For a split second, Mommy and Daddy just stared at each other, eyes wide, as if they’d just witnessed a miracle. Then the baby laughed again, louder this time, a full little belly laugh that filled the room.
Daddy clutched his chest dramatically. “He laughed! He actually laughed! Quick, do it again, what did you do?”
Mommy blinked. “I don’t know! I think it was my face.”
Daddy grinned. “Well, at least he finds someone’s face funny.”
They both burst out laughing, and soon the baby joined in, giggling even harder. For the first time in weeks, the house rang with pure, ridiculous joy. Three tired humans laughing at nothing and everything, finally remembering what happiness sounded like.
